Editorial policy

Our editorial policy is built around four rules: attribute claims, avoid invented detail, separate commerce from judgement, and correct errors openly.

Independence

Commercial relationships do not determine which product types we explain or which safety considerations we raise. We do not accept payment for a positive review, rating, or testimonial.

Sourcing

Where a claim depends on a provider's terms or on public guidance, we link to the source or name it in the text. We prefer primary sources over summaries.

Health and safety

We describe products and planning considerations. We do not diagnose, treat, or give clinical advice. A clinician or care professional should assess falls risk, memory concerns, seizure management, or any other health need.

Corrections and updates

Pages show the month they were last reviewed. Corrections can be sent to hello@elderlyalarms.org.

We review pages when product details, public guidance, or plan terms change. A review date is not a claim that every fact has been independently verified on that date; it shows when the page was last checked by the editorial team.

We also keep a record of substantive corrections so that repeated errors can be fixed at the template or data level, not only on the page where they were noticed.
